SNO ReefTEMPS Data Partners and Suppliers Charter

1. Preamble
   • ReefTEMPS is a National Observation Service dedicated to the long-term monitoring of tropical island reef environments. Its objective is to document climate variations and their impacts on coral reefs, based on the collection, management, and dissemination of long-term, reliable, and high-quality time series. The three parameters monitored by the National Observation Service (SNO) are: temperature, pressure, and salinity.
2. General objectives of the collaboration
   • The purpose of this charter is to define the mutual commitments of the partners and the ReefTEMPS consortium.
3. Partner commitments
   1. Data quality
      • The partners in the ReefTEMPS network are committed to contributing to an observation system based on the production of reliable and interoperable data, as well as on the creation of long and continuous time series. They also help ensure that data are made available quickly and put to good use, both scientifically and for the benefit of society.
   2. Continuity and sustainability of Observations
      • The partners commit to ensuring the regular and sustained collection of observational data and to minimizing interruptions in the time series as much as possible. They also commit to providing any information regarding changes to the local observation strategy, such as the closure of a station or any change in its location or depth.
   3. Data transmission
      • The partners agree to transmit the data in accordance with the standard formats defined by ReefTEMPS and to do so as soon as possible after the sensors are read.
   4. Bancarisation and data Management
      • The partners agree that the data will be permanently archived in the ReefTEMPS database and incorporated into databases accessible to the scientific community, managers, and the general public.
   5. Data citation and valorisation
      • The partners agree to cite ReefTEMPS and the associated data sources in any communication, publication, or outreach activity based on these data.
4. SNO ReefTEMPS commitments
   • The SNO ReefTEMPS is committed to providing a structured methodological framework, including protocols and recommendations. It manages, secures, and archives data, and disseminates it through a dedicated portal. It is also committed to promoting the data and its partners within international scientific networks and to crediting data providers on the dissemination portal, in derived products, and in scientific publications.
5. Updates of the partners agreement
   • This charter may be revised periodically to reflect scientific, technical, and organizational developments. The partners will be notified of any changes made.
6. Membership
   • L’adhésion au réseau ReefTEMPS implique l’acceptation des principes énoncés dans la présente charte ainsi qu’une volonté de contribuer à une observation long terme, ouverte et fondée sur des exigences élevées de qualité.
